About GUTEX

For over 75 years, the Black Forest family-owned and operated company GUTEX Holzfaserplattenwerk GmbH + Co KG has produced insulating board from wood at its plant in Waldshut-Tiengen, Germany. GUTEX is an established brand name for fibreboard manufactured from wood.

To maintain its edge in the face of the cutthroat pricing of predominantly foreign competition, GUTEX offers superior product and service quality. Each GUTEX insulation board bears the CE and Ü marks of conformity, indicating their compliance to the applicable, valid standard or code. All GUTEX’s thermal insulation composite systems have the approval of the German building materials and physics-testing agency.

With its new dry process, GUTEX has broken new ground, establishing new standards in manufacturing and product quality. (See “The New Generation of GUTEX Insulation Boards”)

Now in its fourth generation, the family-run company, headquartered in Waldshut-Tiengen Germany, employs 130 persons and manufactures 11.5 million square metres of wood fibreboard insulation annually.

The raw material for all GUTEX insulation boards comes solely from wood that is harvested and grown using sustained forestry management practices. It is obtained as chips and shavings from sawmills located near the GUTEX plant, another feature that makes the products even more environment-friendly.

GUTEX insulation is suitable for both new buildings and the renovation of older buildings. It may be used in thermal insulation composite systems for building facades or as wall insulation for vented facades as well as over-rafter and between-rafter insulation to complement already existing above-rafter sarking. It provides highly suitable insulation of ceilings between storeys and insulation of the inner sides of exterior walls. GUTEX insulation products are also ideal for use as impact soundproofing of floors, acoustic underlay for wood floors and insulation of cavities in which plumbing and electrical lines are installed.
